A Jar of Dreams

A Jar of Dreams is a series of paintings exploring time, preservation, and transformation.

The works remove dreams from grand narratives. Here, dreams are not lofty goals, but small sensations collected and temporarily stored in everyday life. Their breath and light are placed into jars, where they slowly ferment in apparent stillness, quietly changing their form and scent.

Through the container motif of the “jar,” the paintings present the continuous transformation of dreams under conditions of preservation. Light, breath, and emotion are held within, slowly fermenting in stillness to generate new layers of perception. Blossoms reflect nourishment from decay; subtle fragrance emerges from quiet patience; the tranquility of fading, and the fullness of autumn’s descent—all coexist.

These works are not outcome-driven, nor do they presume a moment of opening. Instead, they emphasize a mode of existence below the threshold of visibility: growing at an unpermitted pace, slowly, secretly, and ultimately arriving.
